Nikon D300s battery dies when the machine is off

Hello, i recently aquired a Nikon D300s and it works just fine. However when i turn it off it drains my battery dead. I've tried using a different battery from a D300 that i have for some time, but the result is the same: it drains the life out of the battery over night. I'm using firmware version A/B 1.01. Can anyone indicate me how to solve this problem, please? Thanks.

Do you have the grip on it by any chance? I've heard of third party grips that would cause that particular problem.

Hi and welcome...Sounds like a job for the fix it man...

If it is indeed draining the batteries and you're ruled out the battery as the cause then it needs to be taken to the shop and repaired. There's a good chance there's a short somewhere in your camera. I would suggest keeping the batteries out of the camera having it looked at before it fries any of the hardware in your camera.
