i have the d800, and my wife, the d7000 (which is a great camera)
one thing though...in photographing reds we find that the reds tend to look orangy.....can't seem to get the correct reds, for example when photographing roses......
any suggestions?

Color correction, white balance correction, done in post processing. It's about the only solution I know about. But some flowers are very difficult to match. Nature is more precise than camera sensors.

I've experienced this when I was using Nikon NX with my D7000.

I haven't been getting any over saturated reds with my D800 which was a big surprise and relief. Here is a recent sample of a rose taken with my D800E which didn't gave me any trouble with reds.

thanks gqtuazon....guess the roses i was trying to capture were just a difficult color to reproduce...and i do admit that the d800 is better than the d700 in this regard.....:)
