I've been looking through some of the shots taken with my old D50 & the 300mm F4 IF AF and in my opinion it compares favorably to some of the newer cameras...What do you folk think

Manual mode=Aperture F8=Shutter 1/800 sec= ISO 200...

for prints 8x10 or less, then for sure, the D50 is a classic now, the transistors were a nice size for low noise, this and the D70 produced great images, and as long as one is not carried away for how large to print, then camera is fine.

I recommend used D50 or D70 for those looking for cheap intro SLRs.

thanks for your comments

I have printed some of these at 18x12 and they looked very good...I sold an image to a mum and she had it printed at 30x20 she was very happy with the result...

I have had prints made from photos made with my D50 printed up to 16x20. Sure you could the noise but they were shot a ISO 1600 and at medium fine. All an all I love the D50. Sometimes I prefer it over my D200.
