I noticed a seller in NY on EBay with En-EL14 OEM batteries for sale. I had seen complaints about OEM batteries not working in the D3100, so my spidy senses were tingling. I asked the seller if these were truly compatible with my d31oo because of the chip in the battery. He assured me it was and if I had problems, I could send it back for a full refund.
Got the battery today and charged it, works like a charm!! No need for any adapters, Just shove it in the bottom of the camera and shoot. It was also only $24.99 plus shipping. Much better price then the official Nikon batteries.
