[Query] Portfolio shoots

I have started taking assignments for wedding and portfolios. Last week, I did a photoshoot of one of my friends. She is very good looking
and I thought that my work will be easy. But she got ready and asked me "Tell me the poses?". This question totally switched me off.
I could not think of any poses or anything.

So here is the question to all the portfolio specialist. How can I handle these type of situations? What should I do ? How should I improve
regarding this ?

I like shooting candids but it gets confusing when its predictable.

Thanks in advance.

If she is very good looking, you should just let me do the photoshoot. :p

But seriously, I'd try the following (caveat: I am not a portfolio specialist.... this is just from personal experience of photographing friends, babies, etc):

- a series of posed shots
- a series of shots taken with the continuous fire option where she is just moving naturally - you can get some really striking photos that way, IMO

I'd be willing to bet the continuous fire option will get some nice captures you wouldn't get with poses.
