Warning to Waterfall Shooters

Rick I know you are big on the waterfalls plus there are several others here who do that sort of thing. Talk about a sad day in hell...be careful out there the rocks are slippery.

Very Sad!

That is baaaaaaaaad.

Even the strongest swimmers would struggle to swim in a wedding dress, and all that material dragging them down. And thats even if she didnt bang her head or get any other impact injury on the way down. It doesnt look good

They found her...deceased. RIP

Here a Portugal a famous piano player died a couple months ago after falling from a cliff while shooting seascapes.
Photography was his hobby and it was too sad to see so much talent wasted on a stupid accident.

Make us wonder when we push a bit to get "the" pic and never consider these kind of accidents happen?

I watched the news last night and they gave further explanations. The woman had gotten married sometimes in June and wanted more artistic shots for her album. After shooting on the shore for a while she wanted to get in the water for a few last shots. The water is very deep there and there is also current. After a while, she became tired and suddenly sunk. The photographer jumped in to try to rescue her, but was unable to. He lost consciousness in front of the tv crew as he was interviewed. He was in shock too.

Safety is one of the many reasons I use a belt system when hiking and climbing. It's good to have both hands free without gear sliding off your shoulder or being top heavy with a backpack.
