Kit camera of 3100 and 18-55 for 499! amazing price for a great entry camera. Just got an Amazon notification of the sale price today.
$499 is the standard Nikon MVP price for the D3100 with the AF-S DX 18-55mm VR lens, and it has been for some time now. You should be able to buy it at your local authorized Nikon retailer for the same price and you will have the services of the local dealer if you have any questions/problems.

great deal i paid 800$ just for d3100 frame with 18-55 lens and a bag .(i bought when it was first week on market)....everything drops in price in time....
