Hey nikonites!

I'm new to the site and I'm looking for some help. I'm looking into getting new lens and my 2 options are:

*Nikon 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR AF-S DX

OR

*Tamron Macro Zoom Lens (70-300) for Digital SLR Cameras

I take pictures of animals, nature, and portraits and I want something that is durble and takes good quality pictures.

Feel free to recommend other lens and my price range is *$350.

P.S I`m putting this on my d5100

Like I've said on this forum before I bought the Tamron 70-300mm and I am extremely pleased with it. If you want some sample pictures of things just let me know I will be happy to put some up for you. For the price difference in the two lenses I had no choice but to take the Tamron plus I got it with a $100 rebate so that sealed the deal for me. Thanks
(Oh yeah...... and I have it on the D5100!!!)

I'd go for the Nikon, I bought the same lens last year, and really can't fault it ... here's a photo I took with it a few weeks ago,
