Not sure if understood the question, but what about attaching the hood comes with the lens. That will prevent and take the hit first instead of the lens. I have seen many photographers using uv filter as a front end protection for the lens too....
rubber band? I have seen some sold on Amazon that are commercial versions of rubber bands.
I've been using these small thin Velcro strips with a little sticky patch on the backside to keep things like the wired remote attached to the side of my body. I wonder if something like this would work for lens creep?
