Trouble opening photos

After downloading photos of my memory card, there are quite a few that I am unable to open. Can anyone tell me how I can open those photos. I am running Windows 7. If more information is needed please let me know.

What camera and what format did you use? jpg, raw?

What are you trying to open them in? PS, Windows Media? Picasa? or?

Windows Media, ViewNX. Media Go. Camera is a NIkon Coolpix P90 & memory card is SDHC 16gb. The error message I get is "Couldn't display "706JPG" because a suitable graphics importer could not be found". What is a "suitable" graphics importer. This photos are very important as they came from our alaskan cruisetour. I am in desperate need of HELP.

Nikon software has been buggy in the past.

Can you try Picasa and see if the same problem appears?

They still don't open. When I try to view them on the camera I get the message "File contains no image", yet I took over 100 photos and they should be there!!! So, where are they?

I Googled your issue and it seems that it is a computer problem and could eb caused by various issues.

Go to your graphics card website and see if there are any updates for the drivers.
