D800e and Moire

Unfortunately most on the lens that Nikon has are just not good enough to get moire

Moire has nothing to do with lenses except for maybe different focal lengths do different things..it is all about sensors and not every snap you make with a D800E or a Leica M9 is going to exhibit moire either they are just more prone to it because they record details so well. :)

And yes you can manipulate it with filters and PP.

I think the more interesting question is are is there anyone who uses moire as a photographic tool?

Reminds me of Tron for some reason. haha

Eye-level,
Sorry but you are simply incorrect.
moire is simply impossible without a lens capable of resolving the frequency of the interference pattern that matches or exceeds the sensors extinction frequency.

We haven't even touched on color moire or maze artifacts yet...lenses don't have anything to do with it...it is powerful digital sensors sir.

Maybe Glenn who owns a D800E will chime in on the subject soon. It will be interesting to see what he thinks about moire and why he chose the 800E instead of the 800.
