I love my Nikon D60 but its bulky and heavy and very expensive to take with Traveling, I was told that a Cannon point and shoot SLR G9 was compairable to the D60...Anyone know of one that will give me the same quality pictures that I get from my Nikon D60 from a compact SLR, point and shoot?

Take a look at the Nikon P100 or L100...you might like it...but once you have used a DSLR it is hard to go back to anything else...There is also the D3000 that is more compact than your D60...
Also Sony is making a new camera soon that is a Compact Point and shoot body that you can use DSLR Lenses on..I would guess in the next couple years we will be seeing a lot more like that to be a alternative to the full size bodies we use now...
