sb600 d7000 and strobes

I would like to use my sb600 in addition to 2 other strobes
but they seem to interfere
i put the d7000 on commander mode
and the flash as slave
without the strobes it works
but when the strobes flash the sb600 doesnt and just beeps a few times
any ideas?

Forgive the question, but how are you synchronizing the strobes to the camera? Hotshoe adapter with sync cable?
