I am in the path of the Solar Eclipse just by chance, in Bryce Park - Utah. Have the right camera gear MINUS the eclipse filter (only polarizers).... argh. Any advice? Anyone?

I have no idea. I know you don't want to ruin the sensor with direct sunlight. The one page I posted above showed them reflecting with a mirror but it seems to me that it would still be too bright.
If I was in the direct path I would wait and shoot only when the sun is fully eclipsed and capture the ring of fire. I would wager that wouldn't be too bright.

Use welder's glass shield. I believe you can get some that are #10 to #14, and probably darker. I used a #10-H and got some shots off today around 7:30.
