Nikon 50mm 1.8 Series E

No matter what i do i cant get the SB-700 or the pop up flash to fire using a 50mm 1.8 Series E Nikon lens, i know its all manual and no metering, is it possible to get a flash to fire using this old style lens?

Never heard of this...you may get an answer if you google it..

Besides the fact the lens is MF, the E doesn't allow metering so you must use the flash on manual also.
An E model won't allow TTL.

BAH!, thanks Mestre, i read about changing the flash settings in the manual, seems i forgot to actually put into practice what i read. Chalk up another doh moment to the noob
