D5100 Video Recording size

I took a video, 6 minutes, that is 952MB. However, i can't upload the video anywhere due to its size. Any suggestions on how to reduce the size that will enable me to upload it?

You need to use a program like Handbrake to transcode the format to something smaller like H264 with a lower bitrate. Keep in mind that HD video files are huge, especially if you are shooting in 1080p. I usually shoot in 720p24 just to keep the file sizes manageable.

I just usually use iMovie or similar to edit, then export to Quicktime HD format. Where are you trying to upload video to that won't accept a measly 1gb movie?!
