Which Nikon has twelve megapixels

I want to buy a Nikon camera that will click pictures from a long distance that has at least twelve pixels resolution. Which Nikon camera should I buy?

Nikon D90 has 12.1MP

in all honesty though it's not the camera, it's the lens that will let you take pictures from a distance, for example a Nikon D40 with a 70-300 will be every bit as good as a D90 with a 70-300, even though the D40 is only 6MP

A great deal depends on the sensor build quality and the print size.

Cramming 24 mp on a DX sensor usually will not produce more resolution because of the density. Likewise, a FX sensor with 4 mp will have poor resolution.

A 4x6 inch print will not show noticable quality issues, but blow up an enlargment to 20x30" or larger and the 6 mp camera shows its limitations with each increase in size.

You must ask yourself what size prints do you want, what are you photographing, the amount of your budget, and your level of expertise.

I have the P6000.It's not a dslr,but it takes nice clear pictures.
