Wireless triggers and YN-468

Hey guys,

So my friend has the YN-468 and together we bought the cowboy studio fm radio triggers. However when I test it both of the lights of the transmitters go off, but not the flash. So I'm pretty sure the transmitters are communicating. I'm just not sure if I have to set something up on my camera or the flash. Can anyone help me? Canons have a flash menu but I cannot find it on my D5100. Thank you for all of your help!

I use those triggers with a TT560 with no problems. You should be able to trigger the flash with just the trigger to see if it works. Hook the receiver up to the flash and then press the test button on the transmitter and the flash should fire. If just the triggers aren't firing the flash then the camera never will. There is a menu item, e1, for the onboard flash that allows you to switch from TTL to manual but I don't believe that effects the external flash. You also want to make sure the camera is in one of the manual shooting modes; M,A,S, and P.
