Greater Crested Grebe.

I had been waiting to get a chance to get some shots of greater crested grebes, and then my 50 - 500 lens packed up so I had to make the best of what I had..

Taken with 70-200 2.8 with 1.4 tc.
Iso 250.
f/ 6.3
1/1000 shutter speed.

The grebe was at quite a distance and has had a bit of a crop, which may have spoilt the IQ a bit but all in all I find the picture quite pleasing.

Thanks for looking... Steve

I think it was a circuit board this time Jack, as it is completely dead ..no autofocus..no OS..It has packed up before when it was the focus servo or something, I would really like a Nikon 500mm but just cant justify the money at the moment ( or at least the wife cant ) and in all honesty the guys at Sigma UK were great last time in sorting it out for me. When it's working ok it is a good lens and certainly worth the money.

Nothing wrong with the IQ there Steve. Big crop as you say, but there's nothing you can do about that if your birding lens packed up.

The only thing i'd do is straighten the photo by about 0.5 Clockwise ( this is how its named in Photoshop CS4 which i use )
