Fav Lens

Just a quick question can everyone tell me their favorite lens, what they use it for, how long they have had, and how many pics they've taken with it. This is not just for the D3100 but for any SLR! Thanks just wanted to hear some stories.

I have two, actually. The 18-105 AF-S VR I keep on my D40, and the 28-105 AF I keep on my D200. I just love the results I get from them.

My default lens for everyday shoot is a Nikon 17-55 F2.8. Been using it for 3 years.

I have to agree on the 17-55 - best lens I've ever owned.

Another vote for the 17-55 2.8...best DX lens around.

My favorite is the 55-200mm VR.

18-200 f3.5 AF-s VR on 5100 most of the time.

Nikon 16-85vr, had it for about a year. To me it's the perfect range (for a mid zoom) and extremely sharp. Excellent cost/quality balance in my opinion.

My favorite is the 16-85mm. I use it more than my other lens. It seems to cover MY most often use range. And, as implied by the previous poster, it's well priced and of decent quality.
