quiet mode

As far as I know, all quiet mode does is disable the focus sound (beep), and bring the mirror up slower. The exposure time is still the exact time you define.

thanks, was thinking of shutter lag though. ie, the delay between pressing the shutter release and the actuation. the beep on/off is a seperate function.

I think it does make for a little longer lag since the mirror comes up slower, but I know for a fact that it produces sharper images due to the fact that the mirror doesn't slap as much on the body when it comes up.
Just try some shot at around 1/125 or 1/80 with and without the Q mode and let us know of your findings. I know what happens with my camera.

You got to try it to believe it. Just take a few shots, have a look at 100% on the monitor and let us know if there is.

You could just take a few shot in the house at 1250 iso just to see. Any subject would do for this really. As long as the subject don't move too fast.
