D7000 settings and results

Hi,

I'm new to this site, and I need assistance. i am an enthusiastic amateur who owns a new D7000. In ambient light, as in a snow and tree scene i shot this morning, if I shoot in auto mode, I get a fairly close color result. If I'm using A setting, I get a bluish-grey cast to the same shot. Any hints?

So, your white balance is off or your D7000 isn't recognizing snow very well. I suggest reading the manual on white balance and getting it tuned in...

Try exposing for something grey, like your lens cloth, lock in the exposure settings and then take the shot. The extremes of the snow are confusing the camera, as is to be expected.
