D300s A/V out - Can I use the camera to get a live view through a another device?

I'm experimenting with a couple of D300s cameras I have and I do not use now.

I was looking at possibly using them as Video cameras for livestreaming.

I have the Roland VR-5 which takes 4 camera inputs via RCA connections.

I connected a D300s to the VR-5 and turned on the liveview of the camera.

I was expecting to see the view in the VR-5 moniter but it is blank.

Is the A/V out on the D300s only used to playback video captured on the camera or there a way to use the camera as a video source?

Hi,

sorry, if the video out does not work out, I'm going to use them for Stop Motion Animation projects in the studio.
Would have been a good deal though :)

Got it to work.

Seems you have to use the supplied AV cable that came with the D300s and a standard 3.5mm jack to RCA does not seem to work with it.

Found the Boxes in the attic and the AV cable were still there.

Plugged in a D300s, hi the Live view button and now I can use the camera as a video feed to my Video switchers.

Nice Going. Reminds me of one of my favorite sayings. "We owe all that we have to those who were not satisfied to let well enough alone."
