I got an old tokina lens from the 90's dont know the model since nothing seems to be written except for macro but its a long lens and shouldnt macro lens be small? Anyway could i use this on my new d3100? also there is another Canon Ef 24-85mm here might i be able to use that too?

TIA

First...welcome to Nikonites.

If that Tokina lens mounts to your D3100, you can use it in Manual Mode. Not all macro lenses are small. Some are very large...depends on its focal length.

That lens won't fit on a Canon camera because of the different mounting systems. I believe you can get an adapter mounting ring for it, but I'm not sure, as the electronic contacts are not the same. Check with your camera store for that info.
