Timer problem

Over the holidays i wanted to take some family group shots " with me in them"......

Because we have a lot of young children i wanted to take 6 pic's maybe 5 seconds apart to get the best shot without stating the timer 6 different times.....

i set the

Mode Dial Auto
"sub Mode Dial" to the timer icon

...the c3 Self-timer to
self-timer delay 5s
number shots 6
interval between shots 5s

Pushed the "take a picture" button and the camera does a countdown to 5s and takes ONE pic....

what am i doing wrong

I am not an expert but a pretty good guesser.

My guess would be to look at what the focus mode was set at. It may have over ridden the settings from the first image taken?? This sort of situation would have called for a remote or cable.

if i need a remote or cable, then why do they have these settings in the menu
