Should on-lens stabilization be on or off when filming video?

Greetings,

I use a sigma lens with OIS and should I have it off or on when filming video? Because I know that the D7500 has electronic stabilization for video, so does that mean I should have OIS off, or can they both be on? Or would it be better to turn off electronic stabilization, and use the sigma's OIS for video? Thanks for any advice.

:)

Dont know about the D7500 but if its electronic stabilizing in camera it can lead to artifacts in certain situations so do some research.

Thanks for the replies. So if I were doing handheld videos, would it be best to leave the OIS on the sigma lens on, while turning off the in camera electrical stabilization? Thanks!

If you where doing hand held i would say try it that way, unlike stills though the DSLR does not work as well for video, you will most likley need MF and hopefully the live view gives touch focus, these things lead towards tripod use so OIS is not relevant.
