Night Shots at Bar

Hi All,

I was a little undecided if I should post this here or in lens section.... I chose here.... Move it if it needs to be moved....

I went to a few bars last night to take some shots, pics ;)

I jacked the ISO up to 1500 and then 4000 and then I switched the Auto ISO on when I wasn't happy with what I was getting. I was using a Tamron 18-270mm lens and shots were grainy, I figured from the high ISO settings....

So, I am thinking that I probably need to figure out what the proper settings are

OR

Is there another lens that I should consider?

Also, by filling out the rest of your profile with where you are, what camera you use, (I know it's the D5100, but it looks better when it's in your profile), gear, etc............much easier to answer any and all of your questions. Welcome to Nikonites. :)

BTW, I picked up a Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 to try it out.
