Initial EV value

Hi guys, I am new to the forum. My question is do you usually set your EV to 0.0 after a shoot or do you find a -/+ value better for most of your shots? Obviously certain lighting conditions dictate a different value. I am asking what you normally set it to for normal outside shooting.

If it's a hazy, cloudy day, I set mine to - values, depending on the amount of light there is. On bright sunny days, I leave it at -0/0+. Having said that, there are times when you have to adjust according to what you're shooting at, and how much contrast you want in your shot. It's very subjective......totally dependent on your tastes. To answer your question specifically, leave it on 0/0, then go from there. Eventually, you'll just add or subtract EV without even thinking about it. EV, by the way, stands for Exposure Value. :)

If you can it is sometimes worthwhile bracketing the shot with a +/- 0.5 EV or 1, it can make a big difference in some shots, especially in tricky lighting conditions. :)
