Which lens?

Just curious here... what lens do you other D500 owners find yourself using most often? My 17-55mm f/2.8 is easily my most commonly used lens on mine, but what is everyone else using?

Unfortunately, the answer for me is "it depends"...

For GENERAL, walk-around, normal, ordinary stuff I have the Nikon 18-200 on the D500 OR the 28-300 on the D810 (or both).

If I'm doing night photography with stars and such, OR if I'm doing something where I want a wide angle of view, it's the Sigma 10-20 on the D500.

If I'm doing an Air Show it's GENERALLY my Sigma 50-500 on the D810 or the D500 or the 150-600 (which I haven't tried at an Air Show yet).

If I'm chasing birds in flight, or doing semi-closeup work of skittish subjects it's usually my Sigma 150-600C (for the close-ups I put a 36mm autofocus extension tube on and can focus down to around 4-5 feet at 600mm). Generally on a monopod.

If I CAN, and I've got time to setup a good tripod I'll put the Nikon 500 /f4.0 with a matching TC14E II on the gymbal mount for wildlife or birds, auto racing, and whatever. That's normally on the D810.

Fer-real macro stuff I either use the Nikon 70-200 with a 24 or 36 mm extension tube on the D810 or D500 (this is my other option for doing butterfly photography in an aviary) OR I use the Tamron SP 90mm macro.

That covers most of what I do, and there's some overlap. And, of course I can do close-up photos with the 18-200 or 28-300 - not macro but certainly fine for flowers and such...

Most often: 60mm F2.8 AFS micro.
Second most often: a laboratory microscope with 40x and 100x objectives.
Third most often: 20mm F1.8 AFS.

When I bought my d500 I intended to have it happily married to my nikon 200-500vr for eternity with my d7200 living in bigamy with my sigma 150f2.8 for macro and my nikon 18-140vr for walkabout stuff.
