New Lens, New Oportunity How to make the best of it?

I recently upgraded my D3200 to a D810 (giant step up) and have spent the last two months learning how to set up and use my D810 along with the 28-300mm lens I got with it. I just took delivery (yesterday) of a Rokinon 24 f/1.4 manual focus/f-stop lens and am heading for the mountains for the week before Labor Day. Along with many landscape opportunities I'll have, I found out that I will be there during the week of the New Moon, so have a couple moonless nights to look forward to and I am thinking this lens ought to fit that bill quite nicely also. All I have ever used is auto-focus lens prior to now, but figure for landscapes and even night sky shoots, mostly will be focusing at or near infinity, so hoping to be ready.

Does anyone have experience with this lens? Any advice or suggestions? I am planning on getting some Milky Way shots and will be trying out some bracketing for HDR.

Thanks in advance,
