D 3200 ... auto focus makes noise on video recordings

Please help, When I make a video recording the auto focus records the motor sound onto the video recording which is very discernible in the playback and always there ruining my videos. This has always been there since buying this secondhand D3200 and I wonder if it is a temporary Technical Fault, a BAD SETTING ( on my behalf ) in the program OR just one of the bad peculiarities of this Model. I WONDER whether I should have bought a Camcorder instead. IS THIS FIXABLE ???

No, it's not fixable. And it's not unique to your camera. DSLRs do that because the microphone is sitting next to the motors... The solution is to move the microphone OFF the camera by either using lavalier mics, and/or external recorders and marrying the sound track in post production... It's a common problem...

Right Thanks for your Quick response, you are a STAR. I should have stuck with Camcorders, as filming is what I specialise in and I Loved my V. OLD Sony Handycam with 100 x zoom , 2 lux low Light and Night vision. Easy single-handed operation at arms length above my head with the tilt view screen and toggle switch zoom + more. Only drawback NOT HD, TAPE-RECORDINGS AND for max 40 mins. & Huge batteries. Today's equivalent with that lot is a couple grand $s.

There are quite a few after-market 3rd party accessories for adapting DSLR lenses to manual focus, and planning and pulling a focus manually. The auto-focus feature in DSLRs is too unpredictable for serious video production... IMHO
