The senitment of "to little too late" as a replacement of the D300S seems to have changed to "the best thing out there to shoot with".
Not forgetting that the D7200 is very capable and would be sufficient for many.

The new Nikon sensor doesn’t quite match the still-current 24-Mpix D7200 in our performance tests, but it’s close (around -0.3EV when comparing overall scores). ....
