NEW Firmware Update for D3300

…And still, after forty-three years, no firmware update for my F2.

Any tip on how to update followed instructions but no choice "update " in firmware menu item.

Have you got it on the card correctly and also a fully charged battery?

Formatted card and copied from computer to card. Will try fully charged battery.

Hello, I successfully performed the update a couple days ago on my D3300. I started out with v1.00 before the update and had v1.01 afterwards. The instructions also specify that the BIN file must be copied to the root directory on the SD card or it won't be recognized. Sorry, I know these are dumb questions, but is there any chance that your camera already has the latest version? If not, did you copy the .bin file to the cards root directory?

My 3300 shows the v100 version. I will check location of downloaded update file thx

Nikon released firmware update C version 1.01 for the D3300 DSLR camera that adds support for the new AF-P Nikkor lenses:


AF-P DX NIKKOR 18–55​mm f/3.5–5.6G VR and AF-P DX NIKKOR 18–55​mm f/3.5–5.6G lenses are now supported. Vibration reduction can be enabled or disabled using the new Optical VR option in the photo SHOOTING MENU, which is displayed when an AF-P DX NIKKOR 18–55​mm f/3.5–5.6G VR lens is attached.
The following issues have been addressed:
Turning Auto info display off had no effect at focal lengths over 55 mm.
Choosing negative values for Exposure compensation in the RETOUCH MENU > NEF (RAW) processing display did not have the desired effect.
