D750 f5 quirk: anybody else notice this?

On my new Nikon D750, I've set my custom function f5 "Menus and playback" option to "On", which allows me to scroll through menus and images using the command dials instead of just the multi selector. Incredibly fast and convenient!! This function works as described EXCEPT for when I press the “i” button in photo shooting mode. When I do this, the command dials do nothing and I have no choice but to navigate the menu options using the multi selector. I perceive this to be a bug because the command dials work when I press “i” in image review mode.

I've sent this as product feedback to Nikon USA, but first I guess I should have asked if anybody else has noticed this issue?
