D70 and vivid colors

Has anyone had a problem with poor color quality with their D70? I've tried different settings but still can't seem to get quality color. My pictures need to be edited to help make colors vivid. Any suggestions?

Using the Nikon Picture Control System is a good way to brighten up the color. But to do that (if you are shooting in RAW) you have to be downloading your shots into a Nikon program. If you are using something like Lightroom 3, Photoshop or other third party post processing program the Picture Control settings will not transfer. The picture controls will download if you are shooting in jpeg. Lightroom III and Aperture III, both have excellent color controls for RAW shots, which, I think are much better than the Nikon Picture Control System.
