It's a great little flash and I wouldn't part with mine even though I have larger more powerful units that see more use. I think the reason they discontinued it was because they released the SB-300 that fills the same niche.
You might also want to consider the Nissin i40, it's very compact like the SB-300.

Afaik the sb-300 wont flip for fill flash. It looks as practical as r2d2. Is Metz any good.

Do you mean pivot for bounce flash? Because the SB-300 head does pivot, but it doesn't rotate. But then the SB-400 doesn't either... The SB-300 uses AAA batteries, which I don't like and personally, I think it's under-powered.
Metz makes some excellent flashes.

Cancel this Want to Buy. I bought a Nissin I40 instead. It does TTL and remote slave and is tiny.
