All but the last one were taken on the same day ... heavy overcast, foggy, low light, bright snow.
As it ended up there was almost no difference between the color originals and the conversions.

this photograph was taken a year earlier, but displays the same conditions.


(Guess what it finally really boils down to is that I love B/Ws. )

ps: this is my backyard. When it starts snowing I grab my camera and head for the woods!

I call pictures like this natures black and white where there is so little color to be had that it is essentially natures black and white.

Thanks for showing both the color and B&W images. After seeing both, I believe that the B&W image is a far superior presentation of the subject.
