Please help with lense! (d810)

I only have zoom lenses and need advice asap because i need to purchase a fixed lense for my d810.

Is this suitable? Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G Lens: Amazon.co.uk: Camera & Photo

Or do i need to spend this much ?

The DX lens will not cover the whole sensor area. It is made specially for cropped Nikon bodies. You could make images with it and your 810, but the corners would be darker and fuzzy because the lens is not made for that format. The second lens would work better.

Now if you have the money, the Sigma 35 1.4 Art is fantastic and the Tamron 35 1.8 also got raving reviews.

Of the two, this is the one you need.

The Sigma 35mm or 50mm f/1.4 ART lenses would be better options, as Marcel points out. More expensive, but worth every penny.

The Nifty Fifty takes some beating.

Nikon 50mm f/1.8.

Anything with a shorter focal length is not ideal for portraits. The 50mm is a good allrounder for FX.
