Share your Craigslist "Thanks but no thanks!" encounters. :)

Yesterday I ventured into my first ever Craigslist purchase attempt. It wasn't for photographic gear, it was for a boat, but I have read of similar photo-related encounters where you meet with the guy and it's not at ALL what the ad indicated.

In my case the ad said "Runs GREAT!" but when I got there, the engine hadn't been working for years. Yeah... thanks pal...

What CL gear have you passed on?

My opinion is that CL was built with the seller in mind and "buyer beware". CL doesn't back the purchase or quality.

CL is like the want ads in a newspaper, except it's on the internet. When you buy used stuff through the want ads, CL or in a back alley out of the back of a 1969 Dodge van, it's always buyer beware.
