Lawn Mower racing ! what great fun !!

I was down in Salisbury this weekend where they were doing some Lawn Mower racing, I didnt know what to expect when I said I would shoot there but it was a lot of fun !!

cool, how fast did they go?

I always wanted to visit one of these races. When I was in college, we competed in the SAE Mini-Baja, and with the right setup, would get enough out of a 5-HP motor to leave your tooth fillings at the start and still have a top speed of 45-50 MPH.

They don't have speedometers but at a guess id say at least 30mph down the straight.

There was action all over the track and because of it being on an un-plowed field there were lots of jumps like the first pic !!
