Going to NYC - where to shoot?

Will be going for about 3 days to NYC the weekend before Christmas. I'll be stuck with the wife and brother in law and sister in law, but would like to try and sneak away late at night or early in the morning to get some shots. We will be staying in Times Square.

I do know I want to try and get some iterior shots of St Patrick's Cathedral and also a sunset shot from the Top of the Rock. Would love to get a night shot from across the brookly bridge, but might be little to far from hotel.

Any tips are appreciated!

PS....I think we need a travel section so we can help each other out on places to shoot when we go somewhere.

I'll second the notion for a travel section. I think the places you mentioned are good locations. NYC is great in that you can create your own atmosphere there as there is so much and so many people to shoot. Shoot what comes natural.
