Hi,

I've got around £500 to spend on a new lens for my D7000, but unsure what to buy..

Current

D7000
18-55mm kit lens
55-200mm VR Lens

I've been looking at the 70-300 VR as this seems to give better images than my 55-200.

If i get a used one I could also replace my 18-55 with the 18-105

I do a variety of shooting, but mainly portraits of family and the odd landscape.

I am also planning to get a 35mm and a 50mm 1.8 to supplement my other lenses

Advice and suggestions very welcome

Thanks

Matt

With £500 i'd be looking at a Sigma 70-200 2.8 APO EX DG Macro HSM II

Great lens and would give you an awesome range, being on a Crop Sensor it'll be like a 100mm - 320mm at a fixed 2.8

I think your best choice would be to go with the 35 and the 50 right away. And if there is some funds left, go for the 85 as well. This is what would give you the most IQ improvement, more than the 70-300.

Thanks for the replies...

The 35 and 50 will happen, the £500 will be in addition to...

I have been looking at the sigma and tamron 7-200 f2.8's. Does anyone have either? What are the pros and cons?

Thanks
