L2.005 is what camera is showing.
Nikon shows firmware update as 2.009
So to update you do the same as when you update
the camera firmware?

Yep. Nikon doesn't make it easy, however. You download the update, copy it to a memory card, then put that card in the camera.

Well did that and it doesn't show up on firmware in camera?
Formatted the card and new folder and so on.

I don't think it's automatic once the card is in the camera. You still need to do the update from the camera's menu somewhere.

Last time I did it, the lens data install process was slightly different than a regular firmware update. The regular firmware update just directly downloaded a .bin file. The lens data downloaded an .exe that I had to run. It created a folder an placed the bin folder in there. From there it was the same, copy the bin to a card and tell the camera to update. So make sure you running the exe to get the .bin and not putting the exe on your card.
