HELP! My D810 is having auto focus issues

Hi. I am new to this forum and I am new to the D810. The first couple of times I shot with the camera it was perfect! I was shooting rodeos here in Montana and the work came out beyond my expectations. Then, I went out yesterday and started shooting (I didn't change anything that I am aware of) I was suddenly aware that when looking through the viewfinder there was a small square normally associated with your focus center but it was in the upper right hand corner of the viewfinder. And that was indeed my focus point. I have read over the manual, tried some adjustments but nothing has worked. How do I get my focus point back to the center?

Press the button to activate focus and then use the multi-selector at the back to set the focal point back to the center.

Check the back if you have focus locked. The multi-selector has two positions; free (dot) or locked (L).
