Help please what Lense

This was my first outing with mr Camers i have 2 Lenses the 18-55 vr2 and a 50mm f1.8g what i wanted to do wa get the whole scene in (as Pic1) but close up so i could get the reflection in the yellow glass of the sailor( Pic 2 ) in the same shot
can anyone point me in the right direction on what Lense i need or what i could have done better to achive this please

Another lens wouldn't have helped you. What you did was move between the two images (evident by a different perspective). You should have kept the same focal length as the first shot, but stood where you took the second shot.

Look carefully you will see the reflection exists in picture #1. The angle you were to the yellow panel was changed in #2,see the bench in relation to the panel in each shot. Also try different times of the day the reflection intensity will change with the sun. Keep experimenting you"ll get it.
