Help! Playback not working

Ok so I charged the battery and it still won't work. When I take a picture, that picture will show on the screen so I know the screen is not broke. But when I try to hit menu or info nothing. Only the controls at the top of my camera will work. Is there anything I can do besides a reset. If I reset it and that doesn't work then there is no way to get my settings back so that is a last resort.
