Nikkor 135mm F2 on a D800E or D810

I have an older Nikkor 135 mm F2 lens with a manual aperture ring. However, this lens can also receive mechanical aperture control from the camera, except the lens has a stationary tab that prevents this from working on modern bodies.
I recall reading about removing this stationary tab (not the aperture control tab) to enable camera control of the aperture.
Does anybody have any experience or information about this ?

I think you're talking about converting a non-AI lens to AI... There are several sources that provide this service and sell the parts needed... google is your friend

Not sure where you're at Bengt, but it looks like there's a few Nikon repair folks in NYC that can do that conversion for $30-$35... not including postage... just verify that they have the specific part for your lens...
