Red Tail Saga

From ground level, what I saw was a group of birds pestering a red tail hawk. At a minimum the closest shot was 100 meters, probably further. I was in motion too on an isolated road. Here is the story in the same order as shot:

Now I have witnessed this on dozens and dozens of occasions and have never realized from the distance what actually was going on. During this particular event I was not aware of the dead king bird in the talons of the hawk, nor did I realize that the one king bird was landing on the hawk and pecking its head. Why the red wing black birds were involved, I cannot say.
