Finally got one.

Westjet flight 712 cruising at 39,000 feet and 535 knots. It is listed as a Boeing 737-7CT. Had the zoom back at 450mm to be sure they were in the frame together.

Really nice imagery. Every now and again I use Flightradar and sit in the garden with my bino's.

Hope for such luck with lotto tickets. This is Westjet flight 1120 cruising at 38,000 feet and 428 knots, listed as a Boeing 737-7CT. Really thought this one woulda been closer to the moon. Heading eastward for Las Vegas.


This is United flight 1662 cruising at 35,000 feet and 458 knots, listed as a Boeing 757-33N.

Cripes, two in one week back in June, been dry ever since. Got quite a few close ones but not the bullseye. It is very tough to get the correct moon, cloud dodge and time of day for these kind of captures. Tried a couple in the dark, zero success and have no clue if it would have been close. Some days when there is no trails is it even hard to spot the aircraft that radar shows is there.
