Second vote for Adobe Lightroom.

I did download RAW Therapy after hearing about it on this board, and have edited a few photo's in it. It's a great FREE option!

I prefer Corel's Aftershot.

Here is a Youtube comparison: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GX7ek7xJYJ0

I've used Adobe's Elements and prefer Corel.
I also use Corel's Paintshop Pro. I find them as good for a whole lot less cost.

For even cheaper Google's free Picassa is good enough. Use it when on the road. And Pixlr another free Google app.

Good but not easy to learn is the free GIMP. It has it's enthusiasts but not a simple photo-editing software, more a cross between a drawing program and photo-editor.
